Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
I was arrested for battery because the other person involved hid the weapon before the police arrived, after I was arrested, the police searched my purse and found a schedule IV substance, however I was not aware they were in my possession, the police could tell that I honestly didn't know I had anything, my boyfriend had hid the drugs in my purse while I was speaking with the police. If he were to testify that they were his and that I had no knowledge of possessing them would it help my case? Any other advice you can give would be greatly appreciated as well. I'm a full time college student and I'm employed, I aspire to be a radiologist but I'm worried that will be nearly impossible as a convicted felon.
1 Answer from Attorneys
Him testifying would probably help your case. In your field, you are correct that being convicted would probably crush your aspirations. Therefore, get yourself an attorney right away who can help fight this. This is not something you want on your record.
