Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Could I be arrested for a bounced check?
About six months ago, I bounced a check that was written for my
drivers license. I was not aware of it until I went to court for the
previous suspension. They took my license and said it was
suspended again because the check I wrote for it had bounced. I
didn't have the money to take care of it at the time. I was going to
go get my license again today, until a friend told me that there
could be a warrant out for my arrest because of the bounced
check. The amount was $250. Could it be true about the warrant?

NOTE: This communication is not intended as and should not be interpreted as legal advice. Rather, it is intended solely as a general discussion of legal principles. You should not rely on or take action based on this communication without first presenting ALL relevant details to a competent attorney in your jurisdiction and then receiving the attorney's individualized advice for you. By reading the "Response" to your question or comment, you agree that the opinion expressed is not intended to, nor does it, create any attorney-client relationship, nor does it constitute legal advice to any person reviewing such information, nor will it be considered an attorney-client privileged communication. If you do not agree, then stop right here, and do not read any further.
It is highly unlikely that you will have any problems when you go to pay for the bad check. Although technically a crime, it is considered "white collar" and ranks low of the list of priorities of most police departments.
Good luck.
