Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
i got arrested at wal mart for stealing a little over a thousand dollars the other night. and total amount was around 3,000.00. and before i got arrested i was employed there. i know i got a felony for grand theft third degree. but will i go to jail or prison? this is my first offence.

While I agree with Don that you "could" go to jail, if this is your first offense, you are probably looking at some form of probation with restitution or possibly getting into a diversionary program (that may lead to your charge being dismissed).
Nonetheless, the Grand Theft charge is a Third Degree Felony punishable by up to five (5) years in State Prison, five (5) years of Felony Probation and/or a Five Thousand Dollar Fine. Therefore, I do agree with Don that you should consult with an attorney ASAP to discuss your options.
