Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
I was arrested when I was 17 years old in Broward County, FL for Burglary which they called a second degree felony. We hired a "big shot" lawyer who ended up dragging the case out for a year and getting it kicked up to adult court. I ended up pleading no contest to burglary of something which was a 3rd degree felony and I was given one year probation, which I completed with no problems. I am in the process of finally getting my record sealed after 3 years. My question is, how long would it take for me to able to get this expunged from my record? My lawyer says it may take 10 years after the record is sealed but I have been doing some research and I don't know if I can trust my attorneys word. I would like to have it expunged before applying to medical school next year. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, no you can not expunge a case unless:
It's been sealed for 10 years,
or it was dropped, nole prossed or you beat it in trial.
