Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Arson?
I was hanging out in the woods with some friends and lit something on fire to start a campfire but it started a forest fire and burnt down about 40 acres. It was in no way malicious or with criminal intent and didn't burn any structures just woodland area. Part of the property was possibly privately owned. No communications lines were affected. I have no previous record other than a few minor traffic tickets and am 18. How would this be ruled?

Re: Arson?
Arson is a serious felony charge; however, because of your age and lack of criminal record you may be eligible to be sentenced as a youthful offender.
