Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

asked for audio/visual deposition

I worked for a doctor and he is now being investigated for theft and fraud. I got a call from an investigator requesting me to come into his office to give an audio/visual statement to help his investigation. He advised me that I am not a suspect....do I have to go? What rights do i have?

Re: asked for audio/visual deposition

You do not have to go. Just because an investigator says that you are not a suspect, does not mean that you are not a suspect. They are allowed to lie to make their case.

You should not speak to anyone, regardless of what they tell you, without a lawyer. You can only hurt yourself or provide incriminating evidence. If the police want your cooperation, you need to make sure your legal rights are protected.
