Re: assault & battery great bodily harm

It depends what you actually got charged with. So I'll try to answer it the best I can with the information you provided. Not sure what you meant by "batt 5055". If you've been charged with battery great bodily harm then you are looking at a max. of 5 years Florida State Prison. A lot depends on your scoresheet, basically, your prior record. There are many factors and cases are looked at as a cases by case basis. My advice to you is to obtain counsel, since this is a serious charge and should not be handled lightly. There are many things an attorney could do to protect your rights, generally, the earlier he/she is retained the better. For example, certain evidence, such as 911 tapes could be destroyed as early as 30 days after the event. You may need to preserve this evidence before it is destroyed in order to give yourself a fair trial. If you can not afford a lawyer one would be appointed for you.
