Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Assult w/deadly weapon
We need a really good attorney in Orlando, FL area one who get good results. My sister got into a fist fight today with someone who is suppose to be a relitive, the other person started the fight and at one point picked up a bottle and threw it at my sister, my sister then picked up that very same bottle and hit the other person in the hit with it. Causing a wound and bleeding and her a trip to the hospital. When my sister was trying to tell the police what happened they told her it does not matter that the other party started the fight nor does it matter that she hit my sister first with the bottle, that my sister is the only one being charged with assult with a deadly weapon because she does not have any ''damage'' to her body. Is this true and legal? My sister was not the aggressor in the fight and she was more or less defending/protecting herself. This just happened maybe 2 hours ago, and she isn't booked in the local jail yet, but my family need to get a jump start on this situation so we can make sure my sister does not go to jail because this bully thought she could just attack someone without consequences. Please point us in the right direction, also if you could provide with estimated costs for this process.
Thanks
