Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

bail bonds

A friend of mines grandson was picked up on a parole violation. His bond was $10000 or $1000 in cash. They paid $700 of the amount and their is a balance of $300. His grandmother is the one who put the money up and signed for the bond. The parole officer told her that because he was picked up again that she has to pay the $300 dollars by friday or they will arrest her and she will have to pay the whole $1000 dollars in full. Is this information correct.

No. They have no right to arrest the grandmother. The bondsman can revoke the bond, however, and take the grandson into custody and take him to the jail. The full premium is generally paid before any bondsman will issue a bond. If the balance has not been paid, they would be totally correct in revoking the bond.
