Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
My boyfriend was charged a misdemeanor for possession of canabis. He had missed a court date and had a bench warrant or him. Cops had come to my house a week ago. Today in the morning, he went to court and the judge had his warrant removed and also gave him an option of pretrial diversion. He got his paperworks and what not, but my concern is the cop came to my house this morning again. I was wondering how long it would take for the bench warrant withdrawal to be processed in orlando? Also in the meantime do we have anything to worry about like getting arrested or so? And am I in any trouble? Will they come again? I have also told them, he had went to court already.

You shouldn't be in any trouble. You should contact both the police and the clerk's office to make sure the warrant has been removed. It is usually removed with the first day but it can take longer to make it to all parties concerned. I doubt they come again but you did the right thing by explaining that it was removed. In the meantime, it is a good idea for him to hire an attorney not only to deal with the possibility of future arrest but to see what can be done about the charge itself.
