Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
My boyfriend has been incarcerated in our county's jail for just over two years. He hasnt had a official trial or been sentenced yet so what could we do to get him released at his upcoming court date?? It was a not a crime that involved any weapons or bodily injury such as assault, battery, or murder. Nor did it involve robbing a bank or heavy drugs. He is a habitual offender

I don't know what the problem is. That is an unusually long time to be in county jail. I suggest you talk to his lawyer, or he should hire a new lawyer. But, there c ould be perfectly good reasons for this to happen.
The other lawyer was right, that is a long time to be locked up in the county jail.
To give you a real answer, and to come up with a solution; I would need some more information. For instance, is there bond on any of his cases? How many does he have pending? Is he alleged to have violated any probation?
I would be happy to talk further if you wanted to give me a ring or email. I practice in Palm Beach and Broward county where I previously worked as a prosecutor.
Take care,
