Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
My boyfriend was recently arrested for aggravated assault with weapon, aggravated assault/domestic with weapon (knife) and domestic battery. He was out on bond from a previous charge of domestic battery about 3 weeks, for which he has not yet been sentenced. I am not pressing charges and I didn't give a statement, but two witness's did give sworn statements and I'm guessing that the state attorney's office will proceed without my cooperation since he threatened strangers, they gave statements and he's been charged with 2 felonies. I'd like to know what kind of sentence he is most likely facing, without being represented by an attorney? He does have prior arrests, 2 DUI's and 2 misdemeanor possession charges, these have all been taken care of. Thank you for your time.

It is impossible to say as one would need to know more about the facts, evidence, witness statements and a few other things. However, aggravated assault is a 3rd degree felony, level six and each 3rd degree felony is punishable by up tp five years in jail and the battery is punishable by up to one year in jail. He needs a local criminal defense lawyer asap.
Good luck,
