Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

My boyfriend was working for a large shipping corporation...when he found 2 cell phones in the bathroom he turned them in to the security guard....he then was accused of grand theft and arrested on the spot. He was just trying to help out and they turned it all around on him. Can he press charges on this employer as he now has a record and cannot work??? I believe they were discriminating against him as he is a young black man and was on his last day of his trial period at this job...meaning he was about to sign with their union...it's almost like he was set up. He has no prior record and would never do anything like what they are accusing him of. He is now depressed and his family is stressing over money and what is going to need to be done.

I am assuming that the criminal charges were dismissed. If not, then you need to talk to a criminal attorney first. If they were dismissed in some fashion, then You need to talk to an employment attorney to answer your question.
