Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

The Break up from hell

Caught my girlfriend cheating, upset I told the other man to leave and damaged her laptop computer and left the premises. No one was hurt at all in this. Now I suddenly have a warrant for aggravated assault in the state of Florida. What do I do to avoid jail time and move on?

Hire Counsel Experience in Florida felony defense...ASAP...the warrant needs to be addressed as the mere existence of a warrant can have grave effects on you.

I agree with Mr. Mangan. You need Florida defense counsel immediately.

Keep in mind that assault involves unwanted contact either with a person or with something that person is holding, carrying, wearing, etc. If your ex was holding her laptop when you damaged it you may very well be guilty as charged. Be careful not to discuss this incident with anyone but lawyers, let your statements end up being used against you at trial.

Correction

The last sentence of my prior response should have ended "lest your statements end up being used against you at trial." I actually typed "let" instead of "lest", which was the opposite of the advice I meant to offer!
