Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Breaking and Entering victim.

My ex-roommate broke into my house and stole my xbox and my psp. All worth about 800 dollars in total. My neighbor saw him in the yard and even talked to him (about the xbox) earlier in the day. The problem is that the state attorney will not issue a warrant because there is no ''positive'' proof that he is the one that broke in. We all know that he did it. What are my options? Is it worth it to hire my own lawyer? If so, what kind of lawyer, and how will the payment part work? Thank you.

If the State won't prosecute, your next remedy is to file a small claims action in your local county court. Good luck.

No the lawyer would be much more expensive than replacing your stolen items.
