Re: burglary with assult

Burglary with an Assault therein is a first degree felony punishable by up to life in priosn and a $10,000 fine. Under Florida's sentencing code, a person would be looking at a minimum of about 4 years in prison, even if they had no other record.

It is very important that you consult with an attorney.

NOTE: This communication is not intended as and should not be interpreted as legal advice. Rather, it is intended solely as a general discussion of legal principles. You should not rely on or take action based on this communication without first presenting ALL relevant details to a competent attorney in your jurisdiction and then receiving the attorney's individualized advice for you. By reading the "Response" to your question or comment, you agree that the opinion expressed is not intended to, nor does it, create any attorney-client relationship, nor does it constitute legal advice to any person reviewing such information, nor will it be considered an attorney-client privileged communication. If you do not agree, then stop right here, and do not read any further.

There are several pieces of information you failed to provide so that it is impossible for anyone to answer your question. What was the amount of the burglarly that was committed and what was the assault? This will be very important as to whether or not you committed a misdemeanor or felony. Also, do you have a prior record, and, if so, what is it? The priors are factored into the point system in scoring your possible penalty if convicted.
