Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I was trying to go around a car to get into a turning lane. I thought he was rolling forward to let me go around, and I thought my tire had hit the curb, but I guess my right side mirror had hit the back of his truck. I thought the noise was my tire, but I was already through the light and pretty far from the scene before I realized my mirror had broken off. I am not sure what to do. I check my car and the only damage is the mirror. I am not sure if I should report this. I am not sure if it is considered a hit and run.

It probably is. However, your defense may be that you had no knowledge of any "accident" and knowledge is a prerequisite to a conviction. At this point, if the police have not talked to you, then you must invoke your right to remain silent and your right to an attorney. Without your statements it may be difficult, if not impossible, to convict you. Further, you should contact an attorney today before anything does happen.
