Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
My car was vandalized my gut feeling tells me that I know who did it (twice) . I have a police report but they want me to give them a name, but I'm afraid this might lead to a lawsuit. If I give them a name could I be sued for libel or anything else?

You could be sued for libel only if you believed or had reason to believe that what you told the police was not true. If you tell the police the reason for suspicions then tell them. However, it may be hard to prove unless the guy confesses (and sometimes they do) which is the reason the cops need a name. Otherwise, the cops are going to feel you're wasting their time.
