Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
cash bond
I am going to turn myself in soon. If someone loans me money to post a cash bond for myself and I end up going to jail after all of my court dates, what happens to the remainder (if any) of the money? How can I retrieve it from behind bars?

Re: cash bond
The remainder of a cash bond is returned to the person and address on file with the clerk of the court. So if you expect to be in jail 6 - 8 weeks after your court date (the amount of time it takes to discharge a bond) you would want to change your mailing address with the clerk of court to the jail with your inmate number.
