There are several things you can do. You can file a self defense motion; you can file no motion and go to trial; you can do depositions; you can negotiate a deal. There is no right or wrong answer since I haven't met you, however, getting an attorney who is experienced in these types of cases, can help strategize with you on the best way to go forward.
