Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

When your charged with a Felony

When you are charged with a Felony - and you are cleared of all charges - how long till its out of the system - how many years do you have to waitl? I was charged with a Felony 7 years ago, all charges were droped. How long is it on record where a employee can see it? My lawyer back then wanted $1200 to make sure it NEVER comes up. - BUT he said there is no guarantee its sealed. It could still come up. So I said, 'forget it, I'll take my chances' And yes it has come up a few times, but I had paper work saying I was cleared. So I just want to know how many years it is on record for all to see? When is it gone for good!!!! Thank you so much.

Re: When your charged with a Felony

Your lawyer gave you good advice. It will show up on your record forever, unless you get it sealed.

It will always show up until the court signs an order sealing or expunging the record. Please see my office's website at SealMyRecord.Com for more information on sealing/expungement. I charge half of what your lawyer wants to charge you.
