Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
I was charged with misdemeanor tresspassing and property damage in NC when I was 18. I paid fines and did community service. I have been living and attending colllege in Tampa, FL since, and because of the charges, I have been denied both housing and employment. I was represented by a public defender, and have since been told, he should have either filed or instructed me to file, a notice to vacate charges. The public defender will not even return my calls, I can not afford an attorney. What can I do?

You should call an attorney in NC to see if that needs to be done. Every state is different so I can't answer for NC, only an attorney there can answer your question. Many will consult for free so you should call an attorney there.
