Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
I have been charged with possession of alcohol. The state is offering me six months probation and court fees to withhold adjudication, but I am a college student already in debt and cannot afford probation. Can I accept the charge of possession to keep it on my record and just pay court costs instead of going on probation?

You might be able to avoid probation if you hire an attorney experienced in negotiating that condition away.

Just pleading and getting an adjudication is not in your best interest. You really need to consult, and pay for, a good attorney who can try to negotiate a better deal for you or work on other defenses,
