Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Child laws

My daughter stole something from a shop in Universal Studio's in Dec. I was sent a letter from an attorney asking for $305.00. I paid it all but $30.00 I thought I paid but come to find out I didn't so now it is back to $305.00. My question is there were 2 other kids involved but only my daughter was sent this letter twice for money. My daughter was 14 and was spoken to without any parent there. I was not contacted by anyone till after the fact and my daughter called me crying. Is it legal for them to speak to my daughter without a parent present? Also I believe that she was picked out due to not having a parent there. What options do I have as I am a single mom and can not pay another $305.00 bill. The attorney will not accept the $30.00 unless I plan to pay the rest of the $305.00 all over again. What can I do I am so upset about this entire thing. Please help!

Re: Child laws

This is more serious than you think. Do not pay it. It is like admitting guilt, and then on her record. Take it to court unless it will be dismissed.
