Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
competent hearing
My stepson goes next thursday to his coompetent hearing. If he is not competent, do they drop his charges. If he is competent, does he get an offer on this day.. His judge is Mark Steinbeck, Fort Myers, Florida

Re: competent hearing
If he is found not competent, they will likely put him in a program and attempt to restore him to competence. They will then reset the case off into the future for another competency hearing.
If he is competent, they will simply proceed with the case.
