Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I think I have a computer virus because one of my AOL accounts sent out an email (or emails) this morning in my name with a link that I can only assume is a virus. I only know about this because there was an email that was sent to me and someone else who I had sent an email to before. However, I do not know if the email was sent out to others. This virus erased my "sent messages" section so I cannot tell who else may have gotten this email that claims to be from ME. I warned the person listed in the one email that I know about (the one that was sent to me and to him) however I do not know how many other people this may have gone out to. Can I get into any kind of trouble since this email came from my screen name. I did NOTHING wrong and I am upset that the emails were sent out (but I had nothing to do with it.) Am I at any risk for trouble? PS I deleted that account name so that it can't do anymore trouble.

We'd all be in a lot trouble if we sent out emails that had viruses on them. Unless you had something to do with the virus, the answer is no you're not in trouble. You did what you could do by deleting the account. I know many people that this has happened to and there is no criminal intent on your part
