Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Concealed Weapon

I was arrested Jan. 29 for having a concealed weapon. It was in my jacket pocket that was not on me at the time. I was truthful and told the cop about the gun, and that is when he told me to get up against the vehicle. The officer told me I was not under arrest, put handcuffs on me, and put me in the police car. After about 30 minutes the car I was in left and took me to jail. I was booked and finger printed. I am wondering if I will be recieving jail time for this, and if it matters that they never read me my Maranda rights. I was also packed with camping supplies and this was my reason for having the gun, I'm wondering if that matters as well.

Re: Concealed Weapon

Whether you receive jail time for this offense dpends on your record. Miranda rights do not have to be read unless you are interrogated. Campers//hunters cannot carry concealed weapons without a permit.
