Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Conduct of a bondsman
I recently ran into a problem with a bondsman, to where the person I bonded out fled to another state. Now the bondsman has been threatening to get my state assistance taken from me. And she said she is going to report me to HRS because she said that I am an unfit mother because I let a felon leave the state. I explained to her that where I think he is but I have no contact with this person anymore. She has left a message on my phone cursing and stated she is going to make my life a living hell. I feel very worried and frightening by the threats of this bondsman and do not feel that how she spoke was professional. Is there any legal action I can take against her? I saved the voice message on my phone. If not is there anywhere that I can report her behavior?

Re: Conduct of a bondsman
There is no law that requires bondsmen to be "professional." As long as the bondsman doesn't break any criminal laws, there is nothing you can do. They lose money if they don't get the person back, and they sometimes aren't nice about doing it.
