Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
how do i get a no contact order lifted against me... my girlfriend and I are from the bahamas but moved to florida for school. we were going through some problems and got into an argument she then called the police not knowing how serious the consequences of it would be. now im facing four counts of felony charges in a domestic situation. i kno she is sorry about the situation and knowing her she would want the no contact order and charges dropped. how should this matter be handled.

You will need to address a judge about the situation. In most cases, the alleged victim will have to ask the judge or give the judge permission to lift a no-contact order. Since you are not allowed to contact the victim, either directly or indirectly, this can be a difficult situation. Often, a lawyer may be given permission by the judge to contact the victim and see if they are interested in communicating with the defendant.
