Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
I contacted an attorney to handle a wrongful death lawsuit for me. 10 months went by and now I am contacted by another attorney who says he will be co-counsel and asking me to sign a fee agreement providing 75% of any settlement to him and 25th to first attorney. I did not know an attorney can transfer your case to another attorney like that. Is it legal?

I'm not sure why you posted this under criminal law, but I will attempt to answer your question. It is solely up to you whether or not you wish to have another attorney take on your case. Often this is done because the first attorney may not have the expertise the second one does (I'm not saying that's the case, but just offering one possibility). Talk to your first attorney and express your concerns, and if you're not happy go somewhere else. However, do it immediately, as the statute of limitations on wrongful deaths suits are very short.
