Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
I was just contacted by an investigator regarding public assistance fraud. They want me to sit down with them and have an interview. Do I need to bring an attorney to this interview?

The question really has to do with why they are interviewing you. If you are a witness, then you probably do not need a lawyer. If you are being questioned because you are a suspect, then you should absolutely have a lawyer or refuse to do the interview.

If the cops want to speak with you about fraud, you should get a lawyer to find out if you are a subject of the investigation. If so, you do not want to speak with them, unless you get immunity, in writing, from a state prosecutor.
