Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I was convicted of felony theft by deception in Pennsylvania. I completed my probation and have since moved to Florida. PA law allows convicted felons to own guns after serving their sentence. FL bans gun ownership by convicted felons. Can Florida ban me from owning a gun for a crime committed in another state that does not have that ban?

Yes, Florida can, while you are in Florida. The federal government also restricts your ownership of a firearm anywhere. However, the Feds usually only enforce it on federal land/property or when enforcing federal laws. If PA allows ownership, then I guess you can while in that state, with the understanding the Feds don't care what state law says.
