Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
I was convicted and sentenced in FL for lewd and lascivious battery on a minor. I've served my time, moved to Alabama and married with a family. My question is how I can have my registration requirements removed for my family's protection. I have no plans for ever returning to Florida and feel that my victim had entrapped me to begin with. I understand that her lying about her age was not a defense, however, I feel victimized as well. Thank you.

Your chance to fight it was to go to trial. Since you did not do that there is nothing you can do to change your sentence unless you appealed within 30 days. Florida will keep it on its record until the time runs out, which depending on the exact statute you were convicted under, could be up to 30 years.
