How to convince State Attorney to drop charges?

My ex was charged with battery in Fl. He only restrained me so I want to drop charges. When I appeal to the State Attorney�s office

1. how do I convince them that the charges should

be dropped?

2. Will they require any proof? AND

3. Will I have to attend a class on domestic violence taught at their office?

They will probably require you to fill out and sign a form to ask that the charges be dropped.

Convincing them to do it is a completely different story. We lawyers spend three years in law school and years in practice learning how to persuade people.

Restraining someone can be a criminal offense, so he may be guilty. Whatever you do, don't lie or you could be charged with filing a false police report, perjury, or some other charge.
