Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
My cousin has recently been diagnoised with schizophrenia and he has gotten in trouble with the law. Because of his mental illness should he be sent to prison based on the charges. Is there any way that we could get the judge to drop all charges because he wasnt in the right state of mind when they happened. This illness runs in our family and has been passed down hereditarily. My cousin has also been diagnoised with bipolar and was said to be incompatant at one point. He has a very low iq. He is slow and is also diagnoised with antisociallism. Is there anything that you can tell me that can help my family and i to beat this case? Any information is grealty appreciated.

You really need to hire an attorney. The disease alone won't get the charges dropped. It can be used as a mitigator in any punishment.
