credit for time served

i was arrested for a constructive possession of more than 28 grams of marijuana in state of Florida i posted 10%of the total bond.while i was waiting on the court proceedings i went to Louisiana and i was arrested for a possession as well i spent 5 month in prison waiting for the court date and i missed my court day in Florida the DA in Louisiana contacted Florida's DA informing them that i was in their custody after 5 month finally i was sentenced to 90 days with credit for time served which is 5 month.my question is a does the credit for time served in Louisiana can applies In Florida sentencing since are the same charges in both states or can be run concurrently?

Since you were bonded in Fl and arrrsred only on a new la charge you are not entitled to credit ts but your lawyer can try and get it anyway. Concurrent also won't work.

I agree with the first response, your chances are slim, but you can ask the Assistant State Atty., if that doesn't work, ask the Judge.

This assumes you are going to plead guilty (or No Contest). Have you talked with a lawyer to ascertain if there are any chances of beating the charge? You should first have your atty. get copies of all the reports. There may be an illegal stop and search or some other flaw. If so, you may be able to file a Motion to Suppress Evidence.
