Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Want criminal record sealed or expunged

I was convicted of felonies, some as a minor and some as an adult. I served 2 years in prison when i was 19 years old for grand theft and burgulary. I have been out of prison and clean now for 4 years. I would like to have my records sealed or expunged because every decently high paying job I apply for is running backround check and not hiring me on the account of my background. Is there a way to have this done.

Also, if i legally change my name will i be issued a new social security number, if so will my record follow me to the new ss number.

thank you

Re: Want criminal record sealed or expunged

I was convicted of felonies, some as a minor and some as an

adult. I served 2 years in prison when i was 19 years old for

grand theft and burgulary. I have been out of prison and clean

now for 4 years. I would like to have my records sealed or

expunged because every decently high paying job I apply for is

running backround check and not hiring me on the account of my

background. Is there a way to have this done. NO. A CONVICTION BARS YOU FROM HAVING YOUR RECORD SEALED OR EXPUNGED. YOU SHOULD TRY AND RECEIVE A PARDON (FULL). IF SUCCESSFUL THEN IT MAY BE POSSIBLE TO HAVE YOUR RECORDS SEALED.

Also, if i legally change my name will i be issued a new social

security number, if so will my record follow me to the new ss

number. YES. IT FOLLOWS YOU.
