Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
my daughter received a phone call stating that she had an unpaid payday loan from 2009, and if she didn't mail the money via blue western union by 3pm that they would submit the dispute to the States Attorney, which would be fraud, a felony offense. It doesn't sound legit to me, since they have my ex-husband and I both listed as references...and anyone could have called us LONG before now! Is there a way to confirm this...since there is nothing filed at this time?

There is a 5 year statute of limitation for fraud offenses. It is unlikely that a warrant would be out there. However, to be sure you can call a bondsman to see if there is an outstanding warrant.
