Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Dear sirs, I'm accused of domestic violence, my public defender wants me to take the stand, and said " I'm not telling you to lie" can I get another public defender or do I need a attorney? My girlfriend filed the paperwork not to press charges. Thank you.

If you're looking for an attorney to agree with a "lie" you might tell, then you will find none here. Just because your girlfriend does not want to pursue it, the state still can and they usually do go forward in Pinellas county if this is where this happened at. If you need to hire an attorney to go to trial, then you should start looking now.
