Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Can a defendant change his mind for representation? If a defendant went to court on Thursday for the first time and wants to represent himself in a criminal case, however, the defendants parent would like to retain an attorney, can the attorney request changes that the defendant initially said to the judge. Defendant wants a speedy trial. Should defendants parent hire an attorney if the State Attorneys office is requesting a life sentence for the defendant? Should the defendant take the 20 years the State Attorneys office will accept?

No way to answer those questions on a website. You need to go see a private attorney and discuss your case. Most will meet with you once for free.
