Certainly, depending upon the circumstances of their case. All new cases come with a presumption that the defendant has a right to a bond. In these cases, which are the majority of cases, the defendant could be released before any other additional court dates.
If the defendant does not have a bond, the defendant's attorney should examine the circumstances and seek a bond to be granted from the court.
