Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Disclosing an expunged record to employer
I was arrested for violating section
800.03 of the FL statutes. I
completed a deferred prosecution
program and HAVE HAD MY RECORD
EXPUNGED. As I
apply for jobs with various employers
including the school system and law
enforcement agencies, how much
information do I give them? Do I
have to acknowledge I have a
record? If so, do I have to disclose
the exact offense or just that I was
arrested for a misdemeanor?

Re: Disclosing an expunged record to employer
I am glad you clarified. The Florida Dept of Education requires you disclose even the contents of an expunged record.I believe law enforecement does as well.So depending on where you apply you have to disclose everything or nothing at all.
