Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Need docket entry translated please

Someone I know failed to appear a jury trial in Florida for a Dui. The docket entries included FTA which I know is failure to appear. There was also a ''CAISS-CAPIAS Issued''. I was wondering what that entry mean. If you could help me I would appreciate it.

Thank you for your time, Tracy

It means the Judge issued a bench warrant for his arrest because he failed to appear for a criminal court hearing.

Basically it means that a warrant has been issued for the defendant's arrest. The warrant information is entered into several national or world wide data banks, so that the defendant may be held for the Florida authorities if and when he or she is picked up for anything anywhere at anytime. He or she could roll a stop sign, speed or weave and be pulled over aywhere and then be held in custody for a long time with no possibily of obtaining a quick release. It would be wise to hire an attorney and take care of this before it gets much worse.
