Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
my doctor called me today and told me that i have contracted the STD known as chlamydia. she told me i had gotten it between march 4, 2010 and april 28,2010. on march 4 i took a std test which came out negative and one again in april which came out positive. i took the test because i am pregnant. i have only slept with 2 men in that time period and i was in a monogomous relationship with each of them. they are both going to be tested. if one of them is positive can i press charges against them? they both know that i am pregnant. can i press charges against them for endangering my child?

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. You asked this in criminal law but only a prosecutor's office will decide whether his actions were criminal. In order to do that they have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he willfully and intentionally decided to infect you with a STD. That would probably be hard to prove but again I can't answer that only the prosecuting authorities can. However, he may be held civilly liable for his actions as that is a lower burden of proof. You should speak to an attorney to see if there any civil remedies for you.
