Domestic Violence

If someone provides a false Police report causing someone to be arrested and then entering the pre trial diversion program (9 months Probation)? The person who filled the false police report if they want to admitt that the information they provided was false, what kind of punishment are they looking at recieing for this? This all happened in the state of florida, Santa Rosa County

That person can be charged with a crime of making a false police report. It may even be possible to charge multiple crimes if multiple reports were made, or even misuse of 911 if they called 911 to begin the process.

It's likely that your input regarding sentencing would be very significant to the prosecutor and Judge. So, jail could easily happen if you sought that. Also, maybe restitution to you for any expenses you incurred as a result as well as cost of the false investigation for your case.

The case could simply resolve with a fine if that was acceptable with you, the prosecutor, and the Judge. Probation and jail are the other options.
