Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Donation Under Misrepresentation-False Pretenses
If I were to have a website in which I would ask individuals donate (give/send) monies (cash) online to me, and the website was fake (fake need of money for payback of a loan, for example) would that constitute larceny or some other crime? Would I be misleading people and could I be sued for anything?

First blush..... FRAUD among others. A crime is a crime wherever perpetrated. Police have cracked down on online crime recently and most police departments have a web unit.
There could also be civil liability for civil theft, fraud (both of which provide for attorney's fees and treble damages) and other potential claims.
