If you are convicted for possession of Xanax (alprazolam), a felony, you face up to 5 years in Florida State prison, plus you can lose your license for 2 years.
However, first time offenders are often offered probation, sometimes "drug offender probation," whereby the charge is dismissed upon successful completion of a rehabilitation-oriented treatment program.
If the court "withholds adjudication," you are not formally convicted, don't lose your license, and the case can be "sealed" from public record following probation.
