Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Drug Testing in Private School

Can a Private School force a Drug test on one of its students with threat of expulsion if he refuses? The school claims that they have someone who claims he saw the student using. The school is even saying that if he passes the student will have to go to a drug treatment/prevention class becuase he is a ''Likely Candidate'' for drug use.

Person is 19 but a senior at a private school. He is also worried about ramifications of testing positive (school says he will have to only attend a class) such as having to admit a positive test result to employers.

Re: Drug Testing in Private School

A private school may require drug testing as a condition of attendance and may expel a student who fails or refuses a drug test.
