Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Who actually enforces this Florida Statute? Title XLVI - 817.566 Misrepresentation of association with, or academic standing at, postsecondary educational institution. This person states they have a PhD in Finance and has been adding the PhD designation to their name since 2002. They are a financial advisor. I have filed complaints with SEC,FINRA and OFR. All are following through with my complaint as far as their respective agencies, but none of them address the Florida Statute they have been breaking for 9 years. I have business cards and copies of other data all with either Dr. XXX or PhD at the end of their name. I have contacted FDLE and they state this isnt for them to enforce either.. so who is it I should be reporting this to that will care.

It is a misdemeanor, so you should be contacting the police to let them know. They will probably then refer it to the state attorney's office.
