Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
I entered a motion for early termination in Florida, after the clerk of the court had got my motion, I asked when a court date would be set.And was told I would get a notice in the mail.I never did in fact my simple motion was heard by (2) separate judges in the same month. One was heard on May 11TH the very day they recieved it in the mail, then anther Judge ruled on the same motion on May 23rd. Im wondering is this strange only or is this done on the regular. Before I filed I called the clerks office to be certain the motion was going in front of the right judge. And I am a little upset that I wasnt given a court date.

Did you have an attorney file this for you because your attorney should get notice and they could have told you about this. If not, then it is your responsibility to stay on top of this. It is extremely unlikely, if not impossible, that the first judge actually ruled on it when you filed it. You should get notice but your remedy now is to get an attorney and ask for a new hearing.
